    Last month I had the pleasure of attending, along with my friend Maria, a three day intensive shibori workshop in Brisbane. Our tutor, Jane Postle, is a very experienced shibori practitioner and I came away with a lot of wonderful new knowledge. I'm sharing that knowledge in my own workshops! Jane uses a pre-reduced synthetic indigo vat to get that rich, deep navy blue colour we associate with shibori. I have some shibori workshops coming up in Wauchope and Port Macquarie.

    I have taught Polymer Clay 1 as a 2.5 hour workshop a few times now. Participants learn some basics of cane making. They make 3 simple canes, using two contracting colours plus black and white. Then they make round beads and decorate the beads with their canes. I also show them how to make a saucer shaped bead. I’m always excited by what participants produce!
